The lingering crisis surrounding the ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, appears to have been finally laid to rest after the National University Commission transferred its full ownership to Oyo State.

Under the new arrangement, the Osun State Government is to take over the College of Health Sciences in Osogbo.

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission Professor Abubakar Rasheed stated this at a media briefing in Abuja.

Professor Rasheed said both Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State signed a memorandum of Agreement to the development.

The NUC boss expressed optimism that the new arrangement would restore peace to LAUTECH.

The institution has been at the centre of controversy due to lack of funding ocassioned by the inter-state squabble between Oyo and Osun States who were the joint owners.
