Alleged Detention For 3 Years: Man In Viral Video Cries Out To Buhari, Others For Rescue, As Ondo CJ, Akeredolu, Refute Alleged Victim’s Claim

The Chief Judge of Ondo State Judiciary Hon. Justice Oluwatoyin Akeredolu has responded to the claim by one Mr.  Olumikpelumi Fagboyegun, that he was remanded for three years at her instance. Her Lordship narrated her own side of the story during a conversation with TheNigerialawyer (TNL) where she vehemently denied the allegation made by Mr. Olumikpelumi on her person.

In her response, she firmly noted that what is happening is the handiwork of some persons who are using Mr. Olumikpelumi Fagboyegun against her family. She said that, two years after her father died, somebody bearing his name filed a suit against her mum, two of her brothers, and the eldest male of her father’s family, stating that they should exhume her father’s body and do a DNA because the man in question alleges to be her father’s son.

According to her, a person must be alive to acknowledge paternity. She stated that the said man filed a Writ of Summons which was served on her mum which itself made her mum felt agitated and embarrassed. She had to call the lawyer and asked what was behind the action. In response, the lawyer who filed the Writ told her that Mr.  Olumikpelumi Fagboyegun alleged that he was born in the household of her grandmother; and that, his mother was living with her grandmother when he was born. When she asked who the grandmother was, he said the person in question was her father’s mother. She then told him that the woman died in 1967, stressing that, she knew her very well, and that no women lived with her.

Speaking further, she stated that the thing died down, and that no statement of claim was filed afterwards.  She also added that her father died at over 80 years old, while the man claiming that her father was his father is just 60 years old or thereabout.

“One or two years after my mum died, he went to one of my father’s premises, where my cousin wanted to establish a poultry farm. One morning, he went with thugs wielding cutlasses, but he was prevented from entering the premises,” she said.

Going further, she added that her cousin responded by calling the police to arrest him because he had invested in the place. She then noted that the matter has nothing to do with her. “The police looked into the matter and by the time police got there, he had escaped,’ she stressed. She also narrated that the matter is before the Magistrate Court, and that she does not know the magistrate handling the matter; also, she has not shown interest in the matter.

Furthermore, she alleged that he also came with thugs and cutlass wanting to take over one of their premises. Narrating further, she said at a point someonetold one of her brothers that what Fagboyegun was looking for was money and same should be given to him but her brother refused on the basis that it was not a matter of someone requesting for financial assistance, rather, it was someone claiming to be biological child of their father and claiming entitlement to the estate of their father.

She said Fagboyegun is being used by some people.

As a way of disproving him, she also said that they should ask the said Mr. Olumikpelumi Fagboyegun which police station or prison is keeping him and by whose order, stressing that, God will expose evil doers to shame and to ridicule.

TNL recalls that Mr. Olumikpelumi Fagboyegun, had earlier called on President Buhari, the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Attorney-General of the Federation to come to his rescue as he has been on remand for three (3) years on an offence that is punishable for 1 year only.

Fagboyegun in a viral video seen by TNL said that he shares the same father with the current Chief Judge of Ondo State and the said Chief Judge has been using her influence to keep him in jail for allegedly entering his father’s house forcefully

“The Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria and Attorney-General of the Federation, come to my rescue and rescue me from the Ondo State Judiciary which is been run like a family affairs that if you don’t know anybody you cannot get justice.

“I have been living abroad for over 30 years. I came on holiday to Nigeria to my father’s house, because I share the same father with the Chief Justice (sic) of Ondo State, I was arrested at my father’s place, I was locked up, I was charged with forceful entry into my father’s house.

“Even if I was convicted of this crime, it only carries one year prison penalty but I have been on remand for the past 3 years.” he said

Fagboyegun narrated that the Chief Judge of the state has been using her influence to deny him justice. He has been arrainged five times and judges have been changed five times. His charges have also been changed five times.

“Please come and rescue me, rescue me, help me, help me! The Ondo State government cannot help me because it is a family business.

“Buhari help me from the hands of this woman, I wanna go back to my family, I wanna go back to my children.
