Reps consider Bill for treating gunshot victims

The House of Representatives on Tuesday began the consideration of a Bill to ensure that victims of gunshot wounds get immediate treatment at hospitals.

The Bill was among six proposed laws the lawmakers examined during plenary.

This happened as the House of Representatives Committee on Health Services began a public hearing on the proposed laws.

House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila hoped that when the six Bills become law, they would lead to improved national health system in specific and significant ways that will impact the lives of our nation’s people for a long time.

The Spekaer said the Ninth House of Representatives had outlined the reform and overhaul of the nation’s healthcare infrastructure in its legislative agenda.

“To this end, I urge all the invited stakeholders and the general public to take full advantage of this public hearing to contribute your views and observations towards improving these Bills so that they are the best they can be,” he said.
