Workers’ Day: Sanwo-Olu approves 10 hectares for worker’s housing scheme
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved 10 hectares of land in Idera, Ibeju-Lekki, and Badagry for the workers housing scheme.
The Governor, on Saturday, tweeted that the land approval is meant “to commemorate #WorkersDay.”
“Today, to commemorate #WorkersDay, I approved 10 hectares of land in Idera, Ibeju Lekki and Badagry for the workers housing scheme,” Sanwo-Olu tweeted.
A statement by Lagos State Government affirmed that Sanwo-Olu handed over title documents to chairmen of the Nigeria Labour Congress at a Workers’ Day event held on Saturday at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
It stated, “The two housing schemes will be built by the labour unions with funds from the Federal Mortgage Bank. The Ministry of Housing will supervise the project.”
Sanwo-Olu also said that buses will be made available to labour unions in Lagos to help in the transportation of workers.
“To further ease the burden of transportation on workers, we are increasing the fleet of our buses and we are going to support labour unions in Lagos with buses to assist in the movement of workers.”
