Attahiru Assures on Improved Welfare For Front line Troops

Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru has assured front line troops of improved welfare while they fight to keep the country safe and united. The COAS gave this assurance at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri during his Eid el Fitr visit to the troops on Friday May 14, 2021.

Speaking while commissioning

officers and soldiers in Maiduguri, General Attahiru said one of the ways he intends to actualize his vision for Nigerian Army was to improve the overall welfare of the troops, especially those at the front line.

The Chief of Army Staff also gave approval for the procurement of two units of100 KVA power generators to serve as electricity back-up for the newly commissioned accommodation. He further pledged to support Operation Hadin Kai in all ways possible in a bid to expedite the defeat of terrorists across the North East and other parts of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that General Attahiru arrived
Maiduguri in company of the Army Chief of Operations, Major General IM Yusuf and other Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters. The delegation also listened to an operational update given by the Theatre Commander, Major General Farouk Yahaya.

Moreso, General Attahiru thereafter
commended the troops for their gallantry and demonstrated ability to turn challenges to gains. He nonetheless assured the troops of unwavering support of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Chief of Army Staff later hosted the troops as well as injured and recuperating Army personnel to Eid el Fitr luncheon. It was gathered that General Attahiru personally served the troops with food and drink. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of wounded personnel and assured them of his support at all times.
