YOUTHS ORGANIZATION SPEAKS ON SOKOTO’S KILLING
The Concerned Citizens for Global Development, the organizer of PVCHANGOUT, has condemned the killing of a 200 level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, Sokoto State, one Miss Deborah Samuel. The organization described the killing as a very disheartening and disturbing act. She was killed for blasphemy.
This is inhumane and we must not take laws into our hands, regardless, there should be a due process to follow when such things occur.
Can this impunity be allowed to go unpunished? Can the perpetrators walk freely in our society? Can they be brought to book? Where is our future and where is the tomorrow of this great Nation?
These and more questions are actually begging for answers. It’s hoped that this ugly situation will never rear it ugly head in this country again.
All our sundry must stand to the challenge of this event so that we can collectively protect our future and that of posterity.
All effort must be geared towards the appeasing the parents of this innocent girl to assurged the unbearable pains.
Government at all level must quickly give the impression through the action and deed that life can be meaningful in this country.
The perpeable tension everywhere must be doused quickly, so as to raise the hope and belief in ourselves. Our children and wards, must be made to believe that lives can be safed even away from home.
We believe in one God we don’t see any reason to take another man’s life all in the name of fighting for God. Human life is scared and that should be respected.
Christians and Muslims are supposed to be living together in unity and harmony and not the other way round.
We express our heartfelt condolences to the family of Miss Deborah Samuel. We pray that Almighty God will give her family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
We call on the government and all relevant agencies to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice speedily.
As a Civil Society Organization, we believe in one liberal society where peaceful co-existence should be embraced by all.
