Troops of Sector One, Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued another Chibok girl in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Chibok girl, identified as Aisha Grema, was rescued alongside her four-year-old child on Friday.

The Nigeria Army disclosed this on its Twitter handle on Saturday.

On Saturday, August 13, the Army also said three others, amongst whom was a 12-year-old child who was abducted since her infancy, were also rescued by troops of 242 Battalion.

The tweet read, “The President, Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya, on Saturday, August 13, 2022, donated relief materials and financial support to a newly-rescued abducted Chibok school girl, Aisha Grema, and three others at Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.

“Aisha was rescued yesterday Friday, August 12, 2022 with her four years old child by troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai at Bama Local Government Area while the three other girls were rescued by troops of 242 Battalion, Sector 3 OPHK at Mongonu LGA of Borno State.

The General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Maj. Gen. W Shuaibu, disclosed that one of the abductees, Miss Mwanret Daspan, aged 29, was abducted on Monday, December 21, 2021; Claris Fidel aged 22 from N’djamena Chad was abducted on March 25, 2022 while Hauwa (12 years old) has been in captivity of Boko Haram terrorists since as an infant.”

On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Chibok Girls Secondary School and whisked away 276 girls.

57 of the girls were said to have escaped by jumping from the trucks shortly after their abduction while 80 were released in exchange for some detained Boko Haram commanders following negotiations with the Federal Government.
