Lagos gives body cameras to LASTMA

Lagos State Government has said it has given more body cameras to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) personnel for more transparency in traffic management and enforcement.

The event was held at the weekend during the visit of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, to LASTMA’s Oshodi headquarters.

LASTMA personnel were given more body cameras with a pledge to keep them working for increased credibility and confidence in the delivering of effective traffic management and enforcement.

Explaining the reason for the redeployment of the gadgets, the special adviser said the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration had brought technological innovations to address the transport challenges of the state, one of which were body cameras meant for accurate traffic management.

On the operation of the cameras, LASTMA General Manager Mr. Bolaji Oreagba said the officers had been trained in the usage and were capable of handling the gadgets, adding that the cameras would have a significant effect on deviant behaviour on roads.
