Ondo court remands seven over kidnapping, murder
The Ondo State Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Akure, the state capital, has ordered the remand of seven men over alleged kidnapping, murder and armed robbery.
The defendants are Moha¬mmed Umaru, Sulieman Aliu, Abubakar Ibrahim, Abudu Barzor, Muhammed Tukur, Aota Bello, and Cindu Yahu
It was gathered that the defendants were arrested by the state security outfit, Amokekun, for allegedly kidnapping three persons and killing one on Ikare-Owo Expressway.
The defendants were arraigned before the court on four counts of conspiracy, armed robbery, murder and kidnapping.
The prosecutor told the court that the defendants committed the offence on August 4, 2022.
According to him, the defendants, while armed with weapons, kidnapped three persons, Bello Mukailla, Niran Adeyemo and Risikatu Sulieman.
He stated that the defendants also killed one Mudashiru while driving on the Owo-Ikare Road by firing at him for attempting to resist being kidnapped.
The prosecutor said the kidnappers also allegedly robbed one Abdul Murtala of the sum of N4m and other valuables at gunpoint.
