Police rescue two kidnap victims in Ondo
Two of the 32 people who were abducted over the weekend along the highway between Benin and Akure in Ondo State have been rescued.
Following the deployment of security personnel into the forest along the axis of the state’s Ose and Owo local government area, the two victims were rescued.
Meanwhile, the 32 victims who were abducted while traveling through Edo State have been identified.
The majority of the victims, according to sources, were photographers who had gone to a burial ceremony in Benin, Edo State.
It was gathered that the kidnappers took 11 people into the forest while the rest managed to flee.
While searching for other victims, security personnel were able to rescue two of the victims.
A joint team of security personnel is still in the forest, according to SP Fumilayo Odunlami, the spokesperson for the police command in Ondo.
