FUTA Alumnus Bags Merit Award as the Best Female Engineering Student in Nigeria.

Oluwanifemi Favour Olajuyigbe, a recent graduate from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), from the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, has secured the title of the 2023 Recipient of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) Award for Best Graduating Female Engineering Student in Nigeria.

She achieved the feat with an Outstanding CGPA of 4.93/5.00 Clinching Apex by any Female Engineering Student in Nigeria in 2023.

She received the award during the Association’s Annual International Conference and AGM for 2023, held on September 22, 2023, at Chida Event Centre in Utako, Abuja.

Professor Adenike Oladiji, the Vice Chancellor Extended her Congratulations to Miss Olajuyigbe for her Extraordinary and Outstanding Accomplishment, lauding her as an inspiring symbol for the future.

“APWEN has been a catalyst for advancing the professional development of practicing female engineers, technologists and scientists. The Association also inspires young girls into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem) by sponsoring competitions & giving awards; also mentoring engineering students through seminars and conferences to retain them in the profession post – graduation.”
