FUTA Fresh Graduate Bags Fully Funded United Nations/Japan Fellowship in Japan.

In an exceptional achievement, a recent graduate from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Grandeza Class of 2021 identified as Kenny Etti-Balogun has bagged a prestigious and fully funded fellowship jointly offered by the United Nations and Japan.

This remarkable opportunity paves the way for Husseinat Etti-Balogun to pursue a Master’s degree in Space Systems Engineering at the renowned Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan. Husseinat, bring a recent graduate of the just concluded 2020/2021 set, has consistently maintained apex grades while seeking various opportunities to improve on her Career.

Apart from Classroom Activities , Husseinat has been a fully active member of the University community. She has served in the University’s Space Club – A subsection of the Centre for Space Research and Applications [CESRA] directed by Prof. O. A. Dahunsi, coincidentally her academic supervisor.

She has also served as one of the community leads in the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program that recently held the Largest MLSA event in West Africa, the Global Power Platform Bootcamp [GPPB].

Husseinat’s interests extend far beyond academics. Her passion for space exploration has led her to collaborations within the international organisation Space Generation Advisory Council, travels for international workshops and presentations at relevant conferences all while pursuing her undergraduate studies.

In a Congratulatory Note, The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji has Congratulated  Husseinat Etti-Balogun on the remarkable feat.

“We are indeed proud of the accomplishments of Husseinat Etti-Balogun , she is a dedicated young woman who is breaking the barriers.

I am very sure that , she will acquit herself creditably well at the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan . She is a worthy ambassador of our great University,” the Vice Chancellor said.
