Ondo State Government may soon give approval for the recruitment of teachers in the Public Primary Schools to fill critical vacancies before the end of the Academic Session.

The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa gave the indications during a courtesy visit by the Board and Management of Ondo SUBEB to the Governor in his office in Akure on Wednesday.

The Governor who was full of praises for the Board’s Chairman, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan for his contributions to the birth of the present administration, enjoined the Board to continue to do its best towards the development of the sector which he described as critical for the overall development of the State.

Aiyedatiwa who described the untimely death of his immediate boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as a personal loss because of his immense contributions to his political career said the vacuum created by his passage would be difficult to fill.

He attributed his meteoric ascendance in politics to the benevolence spirit of the former Governor, by making him the first politician of Ilaje extraction to be made The State Deputy Governor, the first to be acting Governor and the first to be the Governor following his passage.

According to him, they are indebtedness that are difficult to pay back. They are eternal.

To him, these attainments are not ordinary. They are historical. They are legendary. He said there is no way his meteoric ascendance in politics will be written without devoting sizeable portions to the divine role his former boss played in his life.

The Governor directed the Board to re-present the case of over 200 staff of the Agency recruited through the LGEAs and whose careers were stagnated on GL 7 for years to be reconsidered for mainstreaming into the State Civil Service.

Earlier, Olabimtan commiserated the Governor over the death of his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and congratulated him on assumption of office as the Governor of the State.

While pledging the unalloyed commitments of the management and Staff of the Board to the success of the present administration which he described as a continuation of Akeredolu’s government, Olabimtan said all the Education Secretaries from the Eighteen Local Government Area Education Authorities LGEAs are strong supporters of the Governor.

According to him each of the Education Secretaries is a grass root politician and their commitments to the present administration especially your ambition to continue as the Governor come 2024 remains sacrosanct.

He appealed to the Governor to provide vehicles to the Board as well as the Education Secretaries to enable them effectively discharge their supervisory function at the LGEAs level.

The high point of the event was the presentation of a Corporate Gift to the Governor by the Chairman.
