Ahead of the primary elections of the All Progressives Congress scheduled for April in Ondo state, the EyeOmo Women’s Group in Ifedore local government has expressed total support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

During an event held at Ilara Mokin on Thursday, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, the Convener, said the food and cash support event was put together to mobilise more support in Ifedore for the ambition of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Dr. Osamaye, who also unveiled a branded campaign vehicle for the Governor, said: “I am here to demonstrate my support, not merely through words, but through actions. Today, I have made the decision to give food and cash support to our women and to brand a vehicle for my team members to traverse the state, engaging with the populace, urging them to come out on April 20th to cast their votes for a candidate whom we believe can deliver for us.”

Reflecting on past leadership shortcomings in the state, Dr. Osamaye emphasized the importance of trustworthy, accessible, and representative leadership which Governor Aiyedatiwa represents.

“We have observed these qualities in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s character, which is why today, I stand with my team members to affirm our allegiance to him. We refuse to offer lip service by day and dissent by night. This is where we belong, day and night.

“We will stand by him until we realize his mandate in Ondo State. As the Eyeomo support group, we stood united behind the late Governor Akeredolu in 2020, and we are unified once again in supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa.

“Today marks the commencement of our efforts. We will return to our units, translating our collective support into massive votes for Governor Aiyedatiwa in Ifedore in the primary. We call upon all citizens to support his aspiration and help realize his vision for our beloved state”, Osamaye said.

The Chairman of the event, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, in his address, said: “I’m confident that we all possess our membership cards and acknowledge Lucky Aiyedatiwa as our candidate. We’ve witnessed his remarkable achievements since assuming office, and we aspire for the continuity of his outstanding work. I am certain that the people of Ondo State also share this desire.”

He emphasized Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to the welfare of the state across various sectors, including security, workers’ welfare, infrastructure, education, and healthcare, noting that Aiyedatiwa embodies the qualities desired in a leader.

Also in attendance the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Abosede Adelami, who thanked Osamaye for her efforts, urged the women to mobilise support for Governor Aiyedatiwa across their various communities.
