Truck crushes two siblings to death in Ondo
A tragic incident unfolded in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State when a truck collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of two individuals on Saturday.
The accident took place along the Ore-Okitipupa Expressway, specifically in the Idi Mango area of the community.
According to a source, the collision occurred due to the recklessness of the motorcyclist, whose bike slipped and collided with the truck traveling in the opposite direction.
It’s reported that the driver of the truck fled the scene, presumably to avoid potential retaliation from onlookers.
“The motorcycle slipped and rammed into the truck which was coming from Okitipupa. The two boys who are siblings died on the spot. The driver of the truck ran away while the truck has been taken to the police station in Ore,” the source explained.
The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Ezekiel Son’Allah, confirmed the incident.
Son’Allah attributed the accident to wrong overtaking and speed limit violations.
He said, “Two people died in the accident, and it was a result of wrong overtaking and speed limit violation.
“The victims’ corpses were deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital Ore. The crashed vehicles were handed over to NPF, Ore Division.”
