Ahead of next Saturday’s governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Olayide Adelami, the deputy governor of the state, on Thursday, took a tour of the political wards in Owo, to bolster the chances of the governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The campaign train took off at Ehin Ogbe ward 1 at about 11 am and ended at Isaipen ward 8 by 7pm.

Moving round the wards, the deputy governor was accompanied by the party apparatchiks and stalwarts in Owo as he met with unit leaders in every ward in the local government.

Among them were, Owo APC local government chairman, Hon. Samuel Balogun; Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Femi Idris; former Chief of Staff to late Governor Akeredolu, Chief Olugbenga Ale; former attorney general and commissioner for justice, Kola Olawoye, SAN; former commissioner for women affairs in Ondo state, Lady Yemi Mahmud; and former Senior Special Assistant to late Governor Akeredolu on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo.

In his remarks, Adelami urged the party faithful to participate fully and give their total support to Governor Aiyedatiwa in the primary election. He said the governor is passionate about human capital development and will leave no stone unturned in addressing the plight of the masses.

Speaking to journalists at his Isaipen ward, the former Chief of Staff said it was the wish of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to be succeeded by Aiyedatiwa and that he made it known at different times.

Party Leaders at each of the wards, including the local government chairman and the chairman of the APC elders’ council in Owo, took turns to pledge their loyalty to the Governor, and urged their members to cast their votes for him at the primary.
