A Lagos State Magistrates Court sitting in Bolade, Oshodi, on Monday, convicted and sentenced 11 miscreants to six-month jail.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on his official X handle on Monday.

The commissioner said that the miscreants were arrested during a raid at Muri Okunola Park, Ozumba Mbadiwe and Oshodi Bridge respectively on Saturday.

“Eleven miscreants arrested during the raid operation conducted at Muri Okunola Park, Ozumba Mbadiwe and Oshodi Bridge respectively on Saturday, April 27, 2024, were today convicted and sentenced to two months imprisonment by the Magistrates Court sitting at Bolade Oshodi,” the commissioner wrote.

The development is in furtherance of the state government’s zero tolerance to degrading of the environment and in its efforts to ensure a cleaner Lagos.
