Two notorious armed robbers terrorizing highway arrested by police
Police in Adamawa State have detained two notorious highway armed robbers.
The two were claimed to be among five individuals who had terrorised motorists on the Numan-Lafiya road that connects Adamawa and Gombe states.
According to a statement issued by the Adamawa State Police Command on Wednesday morning, the two people in detention are Bello Siddiki, 31, and Hammadu Saidu, 25, both of whom live in Sabewa Borrong, Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa.
The arrest was the outcome of a thorough investigation conducted under the direction of the state commissioner of Police, according to the statement.
According to the statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, “these criminals are involved in multiple attacks on motorists along the highway, including the recent robbery of a Sienna Bus conveying passengers from Abuja to Yola, including one Hassan Kwaji, during which they attacked and robbed them of their handsets and other valuables.”
