Man arrested for murder and fraud in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Aliyu Yakuba, 36, pictured above, a resident of Jalingo Daddawa village, UBA, in Hong LGA, for murder and fraud.
Disclosing his arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said on June 13, the suspect deceived and dishonestly obtained by fraud from the victim, Bassey Isah, three bags of maize, claiming he would help him print and produce Naira notes of Nigeria currency.
Nguroje said the suspect further collected a Toyota Starlet car, a Motorcycle, and a Carry Go tricycle, from the victim after promising to make him rich overnight.
Unable to fulfil his promises, the suspect allegedly took Bassey to a forest, where he brutally struck him with an iron rod and buried him.
Nguroje said the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for Armed Robbery Culpable Homicide punishable with death at the conclusion of the investigation.
