Ahead of the November governorship election in the State, the Forum of former Local Government Chairmen in Ondo State has declared its unalloyed support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

The former council chairmen, led by Engr. Alex Oladimeji, former Chairman of Ifedore Local Government, affirmed their commitment to the campaign and election of the governor.

Oladimeji, in his address, pledged the former chairmen’s loyalty to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and expressed their readiness to engage in massive grassroots mobilisation for his success in the election.

Oladimeji thanked the governor for providing them with utility vehicles as a take-home package and for appointing one of their own, former Akure South Local Government Chairman, Barr. Gbenga Olaniyi, as Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning, noting that the appointment was a testament to the governor’s fulfillment of his promises.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, while expressing his gratitude for the support of the former council chairmen, emphasized that the APC would give its utmost efforts to secure victory in the governorship election.

The Governor assured them of their active involvement in the campaign activities ahead of the election.

He also clarified that he holds no grudges against them regarding the APC primary on April 20, stating that everything that happened was merely politics and now is the time to unite as a party and family for the coming gubernatorial election.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, Commissioner for Information, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, and Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barr. Gbenga Olaniyi.

Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan,
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State.
