Nationwide protests: Akure Chief Imam lauds Aiyedatiwa’s exemplary leadership
The Chief Imam of Akure kingdom, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede, has commended the governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his strategic approach in maintaining peace in the state during the 10-day nationwide protests.
Alhaji Akorede gave the commendation in Akure on Sunday at the commissioning of FMT event centre, a top-range multipurpose facility, comprising a 1000-capacity auditorium, restaurant and apartments in Ala Quarters Akure.
He said, “I want to appreciate our governor for being proactive by engaging all relevant stakeholders before the nationwide protests and this led to the calmness we experienced in our state during the period in question”
The Chief Imam recounted what happened in some states where properties worth millions of naira were damaged and lives were lost.
In a publication on Saturday, Nairametrics quoted the minister of industry, trade and investment, Doris Anite, as saying the economic sabotage from the ‘End Bad Governance’ protests was worth N500bn.
Similarly, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, lauded the governor for being intentional at making the state peaceful and building the needed infrastructure to attract investors.
In his welcome address, founder of FMT event centre, Mr Francis Oladogba, expressed his appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for making the state a top destination for investors and creating the enabling environment for local businesses to thrive.
Commending the founder, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, said he was impressed by the standard of the facility.
He called on other Ondo state indigenes, especially those in diaspora and well-meaning Nigerians to come and invest in the state.
