2024: Adelami rallies Owo APC, says govt to roll out pro-masses policies soon
The government of Ondo state will soon roll out more pro-masses policies that will positively impact the people, the state deputy governor, Olayide Adelami, has said.
Adelami made the disclosure at a well-attended All Progressives Congress (APC) local government meeting in Owo on Saturday.
The deputy governor said the only way through which government can reach out to everyone is by emplacing pro-people policies that will engender meaningful development.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is a youth-friendly leader, who is passionate about the young people and their future. It may not be possible for government to absorb all unemployed youths in the state but the governor is working on policies that will create the enabling environment for entrepreneurship, which we will roll out very soon” Adelami revealed.
He said the grading of rural roads in Owo, which started last Monday, is to ease movement of farm produce to the nearest markets.
According to him, “Once our rural roads are passable, then the cost of transportation will reduce, which will ultimately impact on the prices of food.
“This is what the governor has started doing with the construction of 10.9km Idanre-Obajare road, 15.5km Oda Cocoa board-Langbodo road and the recently flagged off 11.9km Molege-Agunbiade road, among many other ongoing road construction in the state”
He further revealed that the governor recognized the fact that farmers must be safe while on their farmlands and that he is working on it. He said the government, through the ministry of agriculture, will help to clear farmlands, which will be highly subsidized for interested farmers.
“We discovered that some of our youths in Owo will need lands where they can farm. So we have approached the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo for 50 hectares of land and our government will help them clear it at highly subsidized rates, which they can use for various types of farming”
On his part, chairman of APC in Owo, Samuel Balogun, promised that the party is ready to deliver eighty thousand votes for Aiyedatiwa/Adelami in the November 16 governorship election in the state.
He tasked the members to intensify their efforts with regards to the ongoing house-to- house campaign across the wards in the local government.
Remarking, APC chieftain and member Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Jamiu Ekungba, said although it is clear that the APC will win the election but charged party members to walk more so as to record an overwhelming victory.
