Ologbese discusses Ondo State’s green economy initiative with China TV
In an exclusive interview with China TV News, Prince Boye Ologbese, a key government official, shed light on Ondo State’s ambitious plans to embrace a Green Economy Initiative under the leadership of His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of Ondo State.
Ologbese highlighted the state’s readiness to establish a Diaspora Smart City, which will be driven by green economy principles. He emphasized that the project aims to tackle the pressing global issue of climate change through sustainable development strategies. “We are committed to creating a complete ecosystem that will significantly reduce carbon emissions while leveraging the state’s natural resources,” Ologbese stated.
By utilizing a Blue Economy approach to complement the green economy, the initiative will not only promote environmental sustainability but also stimulate economic growth in the state. Ologbese stressed the importance of the plan in driving up the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) while encouraging the growth of e-commerce and creating employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.
He also revealed that the Diaspora Engagement Activities will play a vital role in the success of this initiative, positioning Ondo State as a leader in innovation and sustainability.
“Our government is focused on fostering robust economic development through these initiatives, which will ultimately improve the livelihoods of our citizens and contribute to global climate action,” Prince Boye Ologbese concluded.
