The Kano State Fire Service retrieved the lifeless body of an unidentified man who fell into a well on Saturday.

Confirming the tragic incident, the spokesman for the Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, said in a press statement: “Today, Saturday, 2nd November 2024, at approximately 16:15 hours, the central control room of the department received a call for emergency assistance from the DPO of Kwalli Police Division.”

The control room reported that a lifeless body had been sighted in a well at an uncompleted building located at Kadama Bakin Titi in Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano.

Our team arrived at the scene of the incident at approximately 16:40 hours and noticed some dried blood stains around the well. When the rescue team peered into the well, they discovered the decomposing body of a man, approximately 25 years old, whose identity remains unknown, and who was unfamiliar to residents in the area.

“The body was swollen, indicating that he must have been in the well for the last four days or thereabouts, according to local residents.

“Our rescue team subsequently removed the lifeless body from the well and handed it over to ASP Sani Abdulhamid, DCO2 of Kumbotso Police Division,” the spokesperson stated.
