Ondo Assembly passes 8 bills
The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji, says that the assembly has passed no fewer than eight bills since January to October with three pending bills.
Oladiji, during a plenary on Tuesday, stated that the assembly had been committed to its legislative functions in ensuring good governance and betterment for the people of the state.
He passionately appealed to members of the assembly to continue to create time for legislative duties despite the Nov. 16 governorship electioneering.
Oladiji said that the members of the assembly must take into cognizance the importance of 2025 budget presentation that would come up in December.
He reassured people of the state of the irrevocable commitment to the programmes and policies of the present administration in the state.
The speaker appreciated the assembly and its clerk, Mr Benjamin Jayeola , for the great diligence shown in carrying out assiduous legislative assignments in 2024.
According to him, the recorded achievements since he was saddled with the mantle of leadership are as a result of unalloyed cooperation and support.
Oladiji said that there were a lot to still be done in ensuring better governance.
The speaker, who declared a six-week recess, said that the recess would enable the lawmakers to campaign and sensitize their respective constituents on the importance of exercising their franchise ahead of the forthcoming poll.
He urged political gladiators, the generality of people of the state to tread cautiously throughout the on-going electioneering campaign and during/after the election
