Prominent social critic Aisha Yesufu has expressed outrage over recent tragic incidents in Nigeria, accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of transforming the country into a “massive grave.”

Her statement follows multiple stampedes across the nation, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries as citizens scrambled for palliatives and food items.

In Okija, Anambra State, at least 20 people lost their lives during a stampede while attempting to obtain palliatives.

On the same day, another stampede occurred at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, during the distribution of food items to vulnerable individuals, leading to an unspecified number of fatalities.

Additionally, a recent carnival in Ibadan, Oyo State, turned deadly when over 35 people, mostly children, perished in a stampede while searching for food items.

Reacting to the tragic incidents, Yesufu took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday to condemn the developments and criticize the administration.

She wrote: “Godswill Akpabio will dare come and tell us that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transformed Abuja and other Nigerian cities to London. Tinubu has turned the whole of Nigeria into a massive grave.”
