Our President Not Arrested, Detained – AGN
The Actors Guild of Nigeria has debunked claims that it’s president, Emeka Rollers was arrested and detained by the Abia state police command.
Cornel Udofia, the spokesperson for the president on Monday, January 13, described the report as “a figment of imagination”.
Udofia also stated that the report was designed by some individuals to embarrass the Nigeria Police Force.
Further stating that the report emanated from individuals led by David Amalaha, who took control of the Abia chapter of the AGN, Udofia said the team held an illegal election without the approval of the national body.
He said, “This led to the appointment of interim chairmen, including the most recent one, Emmanuel Ehumadu, popularly known as Labista.
“During Labista’s first meeting on January 9, 2025, AGN President Emeka Rollas attended to encourage participation. However, tensions escalated when an individual in the crowd began issuing threats and causing disruptions,” Udofia said.
He also noted that the president of AGN had contacted the police who invited the individuals involved for questioning.
Calling for calm, Udofia urged the public to disregard such report as it is fake and misguided.
