JUST IN: UAE president set for landmark visit to Nigeria after meeting Tinubu
United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has accepted Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s invitation to visit Nigeria later this year.
The invitation was extended during bilateral discussions on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, where global leaders gathered to address sustainability challenges, including climate change, water, and energy crises.
President Tinubu, who delivered Nigeria’s stance on climate and sustainability earlier in the week, congratulated Sheikh Mohamed on the successful hosting of the event.
During their discussions, both leaders emphasized the need to strengthen economic cooperation and attract investment into Nigeria.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed gratitude for President Tinubu’s participation in the event and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to bolstering relations with Nigeria.
President Tinubu highlighted the positive impact of his government’s economic reforms, which have stabilized and spurred growth in Nigeria’s economy.
He called on the UAE to join Nigeria in developing key economic sectors, citing increased confidence from international investors who have announced multi-billion-dollar investments in the country.
The meeting, held at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, was attended by senior officials from both nations.

President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the UAE’s warm reception and looked forward to deepening ties between both nations.
