Retired Major General Chris Jemitola, a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has died after collapsing at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja on Thursday morning.

Sources say he was quickly taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The cause of his sudden collapse has not been disclosed.

Jemitola served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 while holding the rank of colonel. Over the years, he advanced in his military career, taking on roles such as Director of Defence Information and Defence Attaché at Nigeria’s embassy in Brazil.

Before retiring, he held the position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army, playing a key role in shaping defense strategies. In 2019, he joined the private sector as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.

His unexpected death has deeply affected the military and defense community, with colleagues and associates paying tribute to his legacy and service to national security.

As of now, his family has not released any official details regarding funeral arrangements.
