The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has announced that corps members will begin receiving a monthly allowance of ₦77,000 starting in March 2025.

He made this known during an interactive session with corps members at the NYSC zonal offices in Wuse and Garki, Abuja, where he addressed concerns regarding the delay in the implementation of the new allowance.

“With effect from March, you will receive Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC is efficient in record-keeping, and I assure you that your payments will be made.

The nation and the Scheme appreciate you,” Brigadier General Nafiu stated.

He reaffirmed the commitment of both the NYSC and the Federal Government to the welfare of corps members, urging them to stay focused and patient in their service to the nation.

He also commended the founding fathers of the NYSC and called for continued support from stakeholders to uphold the scheme’s objectives.

Highlighting the NYSC’s role in promoting national unity and core values such as patriotism and teamwork, the DG expressed appreciation for the dedication and service of corps members across the country.

Speaking on behalf of her fellow corps members at the Garki zone, Zaka Deborah Alheri (Call Number FC/24A/5831) thanked the Director General for his efforts in ensuring the new allowance will be implemented.
