Davido faces allegations over rented G-Wagon birthday gift to Chioma
Nigerian music star Davido has come under public scrutiny following claims that the G-Wagon he presented to his wife, Chioma Rowland, for her 30th birthday may have been rented rather than purchased.
The singer had recently hosted a grand celebration in honor of Chioma’s milestone birthday, which drew notable guests and was widely shared on social media.
During the event, Davido surprised her with a luxury G-Wagon, reportedly valued at over N450 million, as part of the festivities.
However, fresh allegations have surfaced online suggesting that the vehicle may not be a permanent gift, but rather a rented luxury car.
Reacting to the claims, Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu posted on Instagram, expressing his disappointment if the rumors were true.
He questioned the gesture, especially given Davido’s billionaire status, and suggested that investing in Chioma’s business ambitions might have been a more meaningful gift.
“I love Davido and my Chiom Chiom, but if this information is true, then it’s so wrong,” Maduagwu wrote.
“Davido is a billionaire, why rent a car as a birthday gift? That money could open a chain of restaurants for her.”
He also noted that in the viral video, Davido did not explicitly state whether the car was brand new or owned, leaving room for speculation.
Maduagwu added that the actual car gift might still be in transit.
As of now, Davido has not publicly addressed the allegations.
