Grammy-winning Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid has made history by becoming the first African artist to exceed 20 billion global audio-on-demand streams.
The milestone was confirmed by music analytics platform ChartMasters, which revealed that the combined total of streams from Wizkid’s solo tracks and collaborations has now crossed the 20 billion mark across all major streaming platforms.
Among his most streamed works is his feature on Drake’s global hit “One Dance,” which also includes British singer Kyla.
The track has garnered over 3.6 billion streams on Spotify alone and holds a Guinness World Record as the first song to surpass 1 billion streams on the platform.
Wizkid’s latest accomplishment adds to a growing list of global recognitions.
He previously became the first African artist to receive the Brit Billion Award for surpassing one billion audio streams in the UK.
With over 65 million units sold globally, Wizkid stands as the best-selling Afrobeats artist of all time, reinforcing his influential role on the international music scene.
