Two members of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, who were elected under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Their letters of defection were read on Thursday during a plenary session by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas.

Usman and Sani represent the Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya and Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituencies in Kano State, respectively.

They attributed their decision to ongoing internal crises within the NNPP.

In a similar move, Oluwole Oke, representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, also formally announced his defection to the APC.

The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was present at the plenary to show support for the new members.
