Troops under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have killed two suspected bandits during a security operation in the Nemaledu community, Gimbi District, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The operation followed credible intelligence about bandit activity in the area, according to a statement released on Friday by OPSH media officer, Major Samson Zhakom.

“Acting on a tip-off regarding the movement of bandits, our troops set up an ambush at a known crossing point in Nemaledu. During the engagement, two suspected bandits were neutralized,” Zhakom stated.

He added that a fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered from the suspects.

Zhakom called on residents to continue supporting security efforts, affirming OPSH’s commitment to eliminating criminal threats across the state.
