The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five individuals, including one Mrs. Dorcas Asije, in connection with the recent assault on the Vice Principal of Complete Child Development Centre, Akure.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, the arrests were made following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi.
A tactical team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) effected the arrests swiftly.
The suspects are currently in police custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Authorities say the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The police have urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
