PDP urges Tinubu to redeem his image in final two years

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to use the remaining two years of his administration to restore his image by prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians.

In a statement marking Eid-el-Kabir, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government, accusing it of wasteful spending, dishonesty, and policies that have worsened hardship across the country.

The opposition party expressed concern over growing insecurity and economic challenges, describing Nigeria as a “killing field” plagued by terrorists, bandits, and severe financial strain due to alleged mismanagement by the APC.

The PDP urged the government to mark Eid-el-Kabir as a turning point, calling for reforms to reduce fuel prices, electricity tariffs, and other essential service charges.

It also demanded an end to what it termed “irresponsible borrowing” and asked the Tinubu administration to recover over ₦30 trillion allegedly lost to fraudulent oil deals and misappropriated funds.

The statement emphasized that recovered funds should be directed toward infrastructure, economic revitalization, and improved security operations.

The party concluded by encouraging President Tinubu to adopt more people-centered policies and uphold the values of sacrifice and compassion symbolized by Eid-el-Kabir.

It also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, united, and prayerful for the nation’s recovery.
