Following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Ali Bukar Dalori as its Acting National Chairman.
Dalori assumed the position in accordance with the party’s constitution and the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during the first National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held in Abuja since Ganduje’s exit, Dalori urged party members and leaders to remain united and committed to the APC’s goals.
“Political transitions often bring uncertainty, but we must not let that become a source of division,” he said. “Let us steer clear of actions and words that divide us. Instead, let us embrace what unites us—our shared belief in Nigeria’s promise and the future of our great party.”
Dalori announced plans to unveil a comprehensive roadmap to steer the APC through the interim period.
The plan, he said, would focus on strengthening party discipline, reconciliation, strategic communication, member mobilisation, and engagement with key stakeholders.
He also commended Ganduje for his leadership and contributions since assuming the role in August 2023. “Dr. Ganduje brought to the party experienced leadership and a clear sense of direction.
We are grateful for his service and wish him a full recovery,” Dalori added.
Reaffirming his commitment to lead with transparency and inclusiveness, Dalori stated: “This appointment is not a personal achievement, but a solemn responsibility.
This moment calls for consolidation, not conflict—maturity, not division—vision, not personal ambition.”
He further pledged unwavering support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the APC remains the platform for driving national transformation. “We will stand firmly with the President in full loyalty and partnership,” he said.
Earlier in the meeting, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, formally presented Ganduje’s resignation letter to the NWC.
He confirmed that Dalori’s appointment was unanimously ratified, in line with Article 14 of the party’s constitution.
