Former presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has denied claims that he betrayed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by choosing to serve President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday during a media briefing ahead of the launch of his memoir, “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” scheduled for public presentation on July 9, Shehu addressed the long-standing speculation about his political allegiance.
He explained that after President Buhari emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in 2014, all other aspirants, including Atiku, handed over their campaign resources to Buhari’s team.
It was on that foundation, he said, that he was appointed spokesperson for Buhari’s campaign council and later retained in the same role during Buhari’s presidency.
More details are expected to follow.
