The Federal Government has temporarily suspended recruitment into key paramilitary agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), citing the need to enhance system efficiency.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the Board’s Secretary, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), announced that the recruitment portal would remain inactive until Monday, July 21, 2025, when it will officially reopen.

According to Jibril, the decision was made to address the overwhelming number of applications and ensure the recruitment process is seamless, transparent, and fair.

“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” he stated.

He thanked Nigerians for their interest in serving through the country’s paramilitary agencies and assured all applicants of a level playing field.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies. We remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the statement added.

The suspension affects the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.

Applicants have been advised to monitor the portal and ensure timely submission once it reopens.

The recruitment exercise, which commenced on June 30, has so far attracted thousands of applicants nationwide.
