A section of the only flyover bridge in Keffi, Nasarawa State, has collapsed, leaving at least two people dead and two others critically injured.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when a truck carrying an oversized container struck the bridge, causing a portion of the structure to collapse and fall onto unsuspecting commuters below.

Emergency responders and security personnel quickly arrived at the scene, rescuing victims and securing the area to prevent further harm.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

While an official statement from the authorities is still awaited, family members have confirmed the identities of the deceased.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collapse, with questions being raised about possible structural weaknesses and the impact of the truck’s load.

The tragedy has sparked fresh concerns among residents, who are calling for tighter regulation of heavy-duty vehicles and improved infrastructure maintenance to prevent future disasters.
