Tension remains high in Anambra State following the mysterious disappearance of prominent real estate mogul and billionaire, Benjamin Ezemma, popularly known as “Big Ben,” who vanished without a trace on November 12, 2024.
His wife, Mrs. Benedicta Ezemma, has issued a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, urging them to compel security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding her husband’s disappearance and ensure that justice prevails.
Despite submitting several petitions to security agencies within Anambra, no significant progress has been made in the case.
The couple’s three children, all under the age of five, continue to ask about their father’s whereabouts, leaving Mrs. Ezemma devastated and desperate for answers.
In a renewed effort to draw federal attention to the matter, Mrs. Ezemma submitted a formal petition to the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), pleading for urgent intervention.
“I am writing this letter and making a passionate appeal for your kind intervention regarding the abduction of my dear husband and father of our three innocent children,” she wrote in a letter made available to The Nation. “My husband is the Chairman and CEO of GSS Real Estate and Investment Limited, owners of Dubai Estate, Awka. He is based in Abuja but frequently travels to Awka for business.”
Mrs. Ezemma raised concerns that a prominent figure, who is currently a governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025, election in Anambra, may be linked to her husband’s disappearance.
She lamented that despite the allegations, the suspect remains free and continues to campaign publicly without any apparent investigation or arrest.
“It would be unjust to my family, the people of Anambra, and Nigeria at large if this individual is allowed to contest without facing thorough investigation,” she said.
According to Mrs. Ezemma, her husband was last seen after being invited to a hotel by the said political figure. Since then, all efforts to trace him have failed.
She confirmed the matter had been reported to the DSS in Anambra, but said their efforts have been hindered by limited resources.
“We are appealing to your office to direct the necessary attention and resources toward securing my husband’s return,” she added. “I believe your office has the capacity to give this case the urgency and seriousness it deserves.”
Concluding her plea, she wrote: “My children keep asking when their father will return from work, and I have no answers. Please help us bring him home.”
The troubling disappearance of Big Ben has sparked widespread concern across Anambra State.
Many residents fear rising insecurity and potential politically motivated violence as the state heads toward a heated election season.
Mrs. Ezemma’s appeal continues to draw national attention, with growing calls on the authorities to act swiftly, investigate the matter thoroughly, and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
