The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Yilwatda Nentawe, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, as the party’s new national chairman.

The announcement was made during the APC’s 14th NEC meeting currently taking place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

The motion nominating Nentawe was moved by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

Nentawe was sworn in immediately after his confirmation.
