Yetunde Amole, a female commercial driver in Lagos, has recounted a traumatic ordeal after being assaulted by a young man who attempted to steal her vehicle’s battery.
According to Amole, the suspect physically attacked her and inflicted injuries during the encounter.
In a courageous move, she managed to record parts of the incident on video and later shared the footage on social media to seek justice.
The video quickly drew public attention, prompting legal action.
The suspect was subsequently arraigned and sentenced to one month in prison, pending the court’s final verdict.
Expressing relief, Amole said her decision to document and publicize the incident played a crucial role in ensuring the matter was not ignored.
She praised the swift response to her call for justice, describing it as a step toward accountability and protection for women in public service roles.
