Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Mr. Felix Osemwengie Isere, over alleged unauthorised fundraising activities related to a forthcoming oil and gas summit.
The suspension was made public on Tuesday through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor.
According to the statement, the governor also ordered the immediate suspension of the proposed summit, which was scheduled to commence on August 7.
“As a result of this breach, the proposed summit is hereby suspended.
Mr. Isere is directed to refund all funds collected from donors in connection with the event,” the SSG said.
Ikhilor further advised members of the public and potential donors to cease all engagements with the suspended adviser.
