The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and kidnapping gang believed to be terrorising residents of Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area, and its environs.

The Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, describing it as another major breakthrough in the fight against violent crimes in the state.

According to her, the suspects — identified as Solomon Chris, 26; Fabulous John, 26; Wisdom Kalongo, 30; and Wisdom Samuel, 33, were apprehended by operatives from the Bori Division on Friday, August 8, 2025, around 11:30 a.m., following a distress call about suspicious activities along Nkpee Street, Bori.

Recovered items include a locally-made revolver pistol with one live round of ammunition, quantities of hard drugs, criminal charms, and an ash-coloured Toyota Sienna with registration number BNY-758FS.

Iringe-Koko said the suspects are in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the gang and recover more weapons.

She assured residents of the command’s commitment to public safety and urged the public to provide timely and credible information to assist law enforcement.
