A fatal accident in Ikirun, Osun State, claimed the life of a man identified as Usman Mohammed on Tuesday, leaving three others injured.
The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the incident occurred near Oja Oba market along the Ikirun–Iree–Ila Road when a truck loaded with granite suffered brake failure.
According to Ojelabi, the truck struck a motorcyclist before veering into a nearby shop, running over four people.
Mohammed, who was standing by the roadside, died on the spot, while the injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
He urged motorists to exercise caution and remain vigilant, assuring that the police would continue to prioritise the safety of lives and property in the state.
