A fire outbreak, on Friday engulfed the premises of Fresh FM, a popular radio station located in the Felele area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, Oyo State.
The inferno, which erupted in the afternoon, brought operations at the station to a halt.
As of press time, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be ascertained.
Speaking in a telephone interview, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident, saying, “Our men are on the ground. The situation is under control.”
Fresh FM, founded by renowned musician and broadcaster Yinka Ayefele, ranks among the most listened-to radio stations in Ibadan.
