An officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Inspector Shabali Adamu, has died in an auto accident along the Damba–Gusau expressway in Zamfara State.

Adamu was reportedly returning to his residence in Kwatarkoshi after work when the fatal crash occurred.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Command, ASC1 Mustapha Abubakar, said the outgoing Controller of Corrections, Assistant Controller General Musa Tanko, described the late officer as a dedicated professional who served the nation with commitment.

Tanko, on behalf of the command’s officers and men, expressed condolences to Adamu’s family, colleagues and the Nigerian Correctional Service at large.

Until his death, Inspector Adamu was attached to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Gusau.
