The pioneer Head of the Civil Service in the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs Grace Adayilo, has died.

She reportedly breathed her last in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.

Her Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Odey, confirmed the development in a terse text message.

“Yes, please,” the text read.

He, however, did not disclose details surrounding her death.

Adayilo was appointed on October 6, 2024, by President Bola Tinubu as the first Head of Service of the FCT. She was also the first woman to occupy the role.

Before her elevation, she served as Permanent Secretary in the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.

As of press time, neither her family nor the FCT Administration had released an official statement on her demise.
