A midnight building collapse in Kabak village, Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, has left one person dead and seven others injured.
The council’s spokesman, Musa Muhammad, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, attributing it to a heavy downpour that swept through the area on Friday night.
According to him, five of the injured victims were hospitalised, while two others received treatment and were later discharged.
Council chairman Muhammad Maji visited the scene of the tragedy to commiserate with the victims and their families.
He also approved N500,000 to support the medical expenses of the injured and N100,000 as emergency relief to the bereaved family.
